Gippsland Grass Fed Beef delivers quality, grass-fed beef direct from our farm to your home, providing savings through bulk purchases. Our cattle are raised ethically and naturally without the use of artificial growth hormones, antibiotics, mRNA vaccine, GMO and bovaer. They roam on pasture and feed on grass their entire lives.
Gippsland is a rural region south east of Victoria, more than 4 times the area of Melbourne but only about 5% of its population. Gippsland is best known for its primary production such as farming and about half of the farms in Gippsland are beef cattle farms. The temperate climate and high average annual rainfall makes Gippsland a renowned beef producing region.
Our farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of West Gippsland in the Strzelecki Ranges, about 1.5 hours from Melbourne CBD and 20 minutes from the town of Warragul. The hilly terrain makes the farm not arable but excellent for raising livestock. We are a small family-owned and operated farm, and have been breeding beef cattle, primarily Red Angus and Wagyu alongside our four children since 2013.
Please note that each cattle dresses differently, so proportions will vary slightly.
(Quarter of a Cattle)
Approximate Hot Dressed Weight is about 50kg to 70kg
(Half of a Cattle)
Approximate Hot Dressed Weight is about 100kg to 140kg
Please note that half and whole side of beef sales are based on hot dressed weight, also known as hanging weight or carcass weight, including bones such as marrow bones, soup bones and dog bones. When buying whole side of beef, the beef will be cut up according to your specifications. Both half and whole side of beef will be labelled and vacuum sealed.
You can either email or call us to place your order. A $100 deposit will be required to proceed with your order.
We personally handle all our beef deliveries, ensuring your beef is delivered fresh, straight from the butcher. Deliveries will be made on Saturdays.
Pick-up is usually from a designated location, depending on our other deliveries, at an appointed time on Saturdays. Home delivery is also available for an additional fee.
A whole side of beef (half a cattle) should fit nicely into a 200L freezer. The beef is vacuum-sealed, so it takes up less space.
No, but we aim to raise our cattle as naturally as possible without the use of antibiotics unless absolutely necessary to ensure the welfare of the animal.
And all our grass fed beef are free from growth hormones and GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).
Grass-fed beef has been found to have a healthier ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. It often contains higher levels of key nutrients, including antioxidants, vitamins, and a beneficial fat called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) that's been tied to improved immunity and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Pasture raised & grass fed cattle require more space and take much longer to grow to the same weight as those fed on grain.
The letter 'F' stands for the word fillial and the number '1' or '2' refers to the generation. For example, a F1 Wagyu simply means that they are a first generation cross and are at least 50% Wagyu and F2 Wagyu means that they are at least 75% Wagyu. Likewise F1 & F2 Angus means that they are at least 50% & 75% Angus respectively.
